We are deeply sadned by the news that Tara Subkoff (from Imitation of Christ fame), was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor that can be deadly within 2 years. She will be operated in August and her recovery is expected to last at least one year.
She is super young (only 36!) and has already created (and sold) her über hype Imitation of Christ fashion label. Friends are putting together an auction on July 15th in order to assist with the costs associated with her operation. Our prayers and meditations go to her and her family in this moment.
As blogged by our friends at The Budget Fashionista , Banana Republic has just launched a new Eco friendly line of items at its factory stores. The Fashion Perpetrator has been to a local store in the Miami area to check it. There are very few items at this time, all made with organic cotton. Besides for the tanks you see on the picture above, there were a simple shirt dress, t shirts and men shirts. That is basically it. There were displayed at the entrance of the store but to find them along with he regular merchandise was tricky: there were not separated and had only a sign showing the elephant logo to indicate which pieces were from the new line.
Also, the eco t shirts were selling for about $25, way above the $8-$10 regular t shirts on sale. Please don’t get be wrong, I am as eco-conscious as the next fashionista but you had to shell out some (significantly) more dough in order to be green. Yea, I would say that Wal Mart has won this one.

Yours truly has just confirmed that our currently fave vampire show has costumer designer Danny Glicker, who was nominated for an Oscar in 2009 for his amazing work on the movie Milk.
Even before knowing that such accomplished designer was on True Blood’s crew, I was amazed by how the costumes on the show were so loyal to the books series the show is based on. Plus, the cute, feminine dresses wore by heroine Sookie Stackhouse (when she not bar atending) totally called my attention since they are so in right now. Also on my “hot-items-to-have-this-summer” list are the cozy “boyfriend” plaid shirts worn by some of the male characters.
Of course, we can do without the superishort shortsi (which are also a strong trend) and the jeans cut-offs but, then again, Mr. Glicker kept the costumes true to its Lousianna small coutryside town roots.
Here are some Sookie Stackhouse inspired ladylike looks for less, courtesy of Forever 21. As you can image, the whole Hooters inspire waitress looks are not my style ;o)

Darlings!
This is a new section here: The Fashion Perpetrator Loves. This section is dedicated to the taste-makers that not only rock but also greatly influence your truly.
So here is my first post for the FP Loves…Section: The Style Sample blog. Not only this is a smart online designer and online marketer, but girlfriend is also pretty stylish, knows how to put a fab outfit together and best of all, share her cute looks with the world! (Really, what is not to love?).
Here is one of my favorite looks. She shows how to wear a bustier in 3 different styles (and a bustier is not an easy piece to put together without risking looking tramp-ish).
This is yet another resource for the “find-your-style-in-the-middle-of-all-that-is going-on” which seems to be increasing in popularity nowadays.
Enjoy and let me know your thoughts…
